2,500 washes a week and Mitre Linen looks as good as new
For over 8 years, Mitre Linen has been a key business partner to Grosvenor Hall, Kingswood’s Educational Centre in Kent. Welcoming more than 30,000 students each year, staff at Grosvenor Hall rely on Mitre Linen bedding across more than 900 beds. The centre offers over 40 adventurous pursuits and learning opportunities, ranging from kayaking and abseiling to problem solving and curriculum linked sessions, creating a demand for quality bedding that will last in a robust, active environment.
Grosvenor Hall has a team of 140 people who keep the centre running smoothly, including General Manager, Paul Carter:
“The scale of operation at Grosvenor Hall compels a dedicated and collaborative approach to running the centre. It is essential that Grosvenor Hall runs like clockwork, and that requires a lot of commitment from the team. As such, we expect the same dedication from our suppliers and having worked with Mitre Linen for over 8 years, we really do see them as integral to our team.”

Mitre Linen supply a range of duvet covers, pillow cases and sheets which have been specially designed for busy businesses that welcome high volumes of visitors. Meanwhile, Grovesnor Hall’s twenty-strong housekeeping team ensure that every room is spotless, warm and welcoming, as Paul continues:
"Our laundry is completed on site and all bedding has to be washed, dried, ironed and beds re-made several times a week. It’s a fast turnaround and the duvet covers and pillow cases have to be of optimum quality to survive that many washes. The bedding we use from Mitre Linen is exceptional; it is washed and washed but always looks immaculate when replaced on the beds.”
Grosvenor Hall is also constantly developing its offering and a few years ago, Adventure Lodges were added to the site. The lodges provide unique accommodation for those attending the centre and the safari-style option has proved extremely popular, with over 15,000 students opting to stay in a lodge since they opened 3 years ago. As Paul highlights, Mitre Linen helped ensure that the lodges were a success:

“We obviously needed to re-think bedding options for the beds in the lodges, to ensure our guests would be kept warm and toasty at night. We worked with Mitre Linen who recommended a variety of thicker duvets and pillows that would work well in the lodges whilst also suggesting the Geo Range of bedding to complement the modern, yet neutral feel, of the rooms. Quite honestly, we’re absolutely delighted with the results.”
Continuing the development of the centre, the recently opened London block contains 85 beds, all decorated in the new Kingswood brand colour scheme:
“Refurbishing on the scale and to the specifications that we require is a significant task and the team at Mitre Linen continue to make it really easy for us. We demand excellent quality and durable products that also look fantastic for our guests and fit with our brand. The range available at Mitre Linen is perfect, with orders turned around quickly when sales are placed over the phone, or via the website which is easy to use. If we are looking for advice then the team are always on-hand to help whenever we need them.”
Summing up the relationship between Mitre Linen and Kingswood, Paul concludes,

“Our policy is to support UK businesses and work with companies who hold the same values as Kingswood, so we choose our suppliers very carefully. Mitre Linen is a valued and trusted partner of Kingswood; they have a great understanding of our business and really do supply amazing products; fantastic quality and designs. By the end of this year, we’ll have around 4,000 sets of bedding from Mitre Linen, a testament to the strength of our valued relationship.”
